Fact Check: Rahul Gandhi Did Not Accept That BJP MPs Were Pushed, The Viral Clip Is Altered
The viral video clip of Rahul Gandhi with the claim that he has accepted the scuffle in the Lok Sabha premises, is altered. He had accepted the scuffle with Mallikarjun Kharge in the Parliament premises, and the reference to Kharge was removed from the viral clip, making it appear as if Rahul Gandhi accepted that BJP MPs were pushed. In reality, he was responding to a question from journalists about Mallikarjun Kharge being pushed. New Delhi (Visvas News). The winter session of Parliament ended on a tumultuous note due to protests from both the ruling and opposition parties over the jostling in the Parliament premises. A case has also been registered against Rahul Gandhi under various sections in Delhi in this regard. Amid this, a video clip of Rahul Gandhi is going viral on social media, claiming that he allegedly accepted that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs were jostled in Parliament. In its investigation, Vishvas News found this claim to be false. The viral video is altered. In the original video clip, Rahul Gandhi was talking about the scuffle with Mallikarjun Kharge, however, the reference to Kharge has been removed from the viral clip, making it appear as if he accepted that BJP MPs were pushed on the Parliament premises. Social media user 'I Support Dr Mahesh Sharma' has shared the viral video clip (archive link) with the caption, "Rahul Gandhi himself is admitting that he has pushed, and is shamelessly saying that nothing happens by pushing. Due to his push, the head of a senior MP got fractured, two MPs are hospitalised and Rahul ji is saying that nothing happens by pushing. Arrogance, tyranny and dictatorship run in the veins of the Gandhi family... shameful." To verify the authenticity of this claim, we carefully analysed the viral clip. In the 16-second video, Rahul Gandhi is heard saying, 'Yes...yes, we have done it...we have done it...but it's okay...it's okay. Some...some pushing doesn't hurt us. But this...!" However, Rahul Gandhi's response is related to a question asked by the journalists. When they asked him, "... Kharge ji has been pushed... Kharge ji has also been pushed...", He replied, "...look...look...yes...yes, we have done it...we have done it...but it's okay...it's okay. Some...some pushing doesn't hurt us. But this...!" Upon listening to this clip, it becomes clear that Rahul Gandhi did not accept the scuffle in the Parliament premises, rather he acknowledged the scuffle involving Mallikarjun Kharge, as referenced in the journalists' question. Since this viral clip is incomplete, to verify its original context, we searched for the source and found the full clip on news agency ANI's X (formerly Twitter) thread. In this clip, Rahul Gandhi's complete statement from the Parliament premises is included. Responding to the journalists' questions, he says, "...no..no see...I don't know..(calm down) it must be in your camera...this is the entrance of the Parliament, I was trying to go inside it...so the BJP MPs were trying to stop me like this (indicating blockade with hand)...they were pushing...and were threatening me...so that is what happened." Following this, the journalists asked him about the scuffle with Mallikarjun Kharge, to which Rahul Gandhi replied, "......look..look..yes..yes, we did it...we did it...but it's okay...it's okay. No...no means we are not affected by the pushing and shoving. But this is the entrance of the Parliament House...and we have the right to go inside. And the BJP members were stopping us from going inside." Later, the journalists asked him more questions, to which Rahul Gandhi responded, "The central issue... the central issue... the central issue is that they are attacking the Constitution and insulting the memory of Ambedkar ji." Saying this, Rahul Gandhi walks out of the Parliament premises. This statement of Rahul Gandhi is also mentioned in the same context in the report of news agency ANI. According to an ANI report, following the incident, BJP leaders filed a case against Rahul Gandhi at the Parliament Street Police Station under sections 109, 115, 117, 125 and 351 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for allegedly injuring BJP MPs. It is noteworthy that Congress protested in the Rajya Sabha (see report) over Home Minister Amit Shah's statement on Bhimrao Ambedkar and demanding his resignation. At the same time, in response to Congress' protest, the ruling party also held counter protests. BJP alleged that Congress is distorting Shah's statement on Ambedkar and regarding this, Amit Shah held a press conference to present his side and accused Congress of spreading confusion. The winter session of Parliament was disrupted over this issue and the Lok Sabha was adjourned indefinitely. We contacted Congress national spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh regarding the viral video clip. He called it BJP's propaganda and said, "In the video clip that BJP leaders are sharing, Rahul Gandhi can be clearly heard talking about the scuffle with Mallikarjun Kharge." He said, "The claim of the BJP leader who is currently hospitalised should be investigated." The page sharing the viral video clip with the false claim belongs to BJP MP Dr Mahesh Sharma with over two lakh followers on Facebook. Fact check reports on other viral claims related to Rahul Gandhi can be read on the Vishvas News website. Conclusion: The viral video clip of Rahul Gandhi with the claim that he has accepted the scuffle in the Lok Sabha premises, is altered.

Kumar Vishwas' "Ramayan" Rant: A Sarcastic Take on Family Values and Lakshmi
In a moment that has left many scratching their heads and others in fits of laughter, poet and former politician Kumar Vishwas made some eyebrow-raising comments about Sonakshi Sinha, actress and daughter of Bollywood legend Shatrughan Sinha. According to reports, Vishwas suggested that if Shatrugan didn't teach his children about the Ramayan, "someone might take away your household's Lakshmi." Now, if that didn't raise a few eyebrows, the fact that Shatrughan Sinha's home is actually named "Ramayan" surely did. But let's break this down, shall we? A Strange Warning About Lakshmi and Family Traditions So, according to Vishwas, if you don't pass down the teachings of the Ramayan, there's a chance that your family's wealth (a.k.a Lakshmi) will somehow vanish. What exactly does this mean? Are we now in the business of measuring the moral value of families based on whether or not they're "well-versed in the Ramayan"? Vishwas, in all his wisdom, implies that if a family's spiritual grounding isn't strong enough, someone might waltz in and steal their Lakshmi. Is he suggesting there's a team of thieves out there who steal prosperity like they're robbing a bank? But this idea of Lakshmi being "taken away" simply because of a lack of Ramayan-teaching feels like it belongs in a bad soap opera plot, not serious spiritual discourse. The Jibe at Sonakshi Sinha's Life Choices What's even more puzzling is that Vishwas seemed to be indirectly throwing shade at Sonakshi Sinha's personal life. Sonakshi, who is a successful actress in her own right, recently got married to Zaheer Iqbal. But apparently, Vishwas thinks that such a decision could cause the Sinha family's "Lakshmi" to slip away. If Sonakshi's marriage is what's being blamed for the apparent risk of Lakshmi's exit, then we've really entered a strange new world of judgment. Marriage, in this context, seems to have become a proxy for moral failure -- because, clearly, nothing says "spiritual catastrophe" quite like love and commitment, right? If there's a cosmic penalty for choosing a life partner, someone should have told us all sooner. Let's also take a moment to marvel at how personal choices, like a wedding, are somehow being tied to a family's financial fate. If this logic holds, shouldn't we all be concerned that the latest trend in home décor could be the real culprit? "Ah, you bought a sofa set from a chain store? There goes your wealth!" Mukesh Khanna starts the Fray Since misery likes company, enter Mukesh Khanna. Best known for his role as Bhishma Pitamah in the 90s Mahabharat, Khanna recently added his two cents on the matter, echoing similar concerns about today's youth lacking respect for the Ramayan and its teachings. In a social media post, Khanna seemed to suggest that this lack of cultural grounding leads to all kinds of personal and financial misfortunes. While Khanna's point about respecting ancient texts is a valid one, his delivery could use a little less sermonizing and a little more understanding. The idea that simply reciting ancient epics guarantees a smooth, prosperous life feels a little... idealistic, doesn't it? Life is messy, complex, and full of surprises -- no matter how many verses you know by heart.
Pushpa 2 director Sukumar reviews Ram Charan's Game Changer: 'He will get a National Award for the performance'
The director also expressed his long-held belief that Ram Charan deserved a National Award for his performance in Rangasthalam and hoped that Game Changer would fulfil that dream At a promotional event in the US, Sukumar shared his review of Ram Charan's upcoming film Game Changer and expressed high praise for the actor's performance. Pushpa 2: The Rule director Sukumar has given the first review of Shankar's Ram Charan and Kiara Advani-starrer Game Changer. Speaking at a promotional event for the film in Dallas, US, on Saturday, the director stated that Ram Charan's performance was so remarkable that he hopes the actor receives a National Award for it. Sukumar reviews Game Changer: At the event, Sukumar revealed that he had watched the film with Ram Charan's father, actor Chiranjeevi. Sharing his thoughts, he said, "I will tell you a secret. I watched this film with Chiranjeevi sir, Game Changer. So, I want to give the first review. First half, awesome. Interval, blockbuster. Trust me. Second half, the flashback episode gave me goosebumps -- phenomenal. I enjoyed it as much as Shankar's Gentleman and Bharateeyudu (Indian)." The director also expressed his long-held belief that Ram Charan deserved a National Award for his performance in Rangasthalam and hoped that Game Changer would fulfil that dream. He said, "I was so sure Charan would receive a National Award for Rangasthalam, so did others. But the way he essayed emotions in the film's climax, I got the feeling again. He performed so well, he will definitely get a National Award for it." Upcoming Work: Sukumar recently directed Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles. The film performed exceptionally well at the box office, although its lead actor has been involved in legal controversies since its release. At the premiere on December 4, a stampede-like situation tragically resulted in the death of a woman and the hospitalisation of a young boy. Allu Arjun, who was present at the event, faced blame from the police and the Telangana government but was later granted interim bail. Sukumar's next film will see him collaborating with Ram Charan for the second time after their blockbuster Rangasthalam. Speaking about their bond, Sukumar said, "I love every hero who works with me because we work together for at least 3 years. But when the film is released, I don't stay in touch with most of them. Charan is the only exception because we stayed in touch even after Rangasthalam. He is my brother; I love him more than anything. We often meet and discuss various things."

'Chance at centre...': Ajit Pawar on NCP's Chhagan Bhujbal row
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar has finally spoken on the controversy over Chhagan Bhujbal's exclusion from a ministerial berth in Maharashtra's new government. In his first public statement, Pawar emphasized the need to give opportunities to new faces. He also hinted at a possible solution by saying senior leaders like Bhujbal could be accommodated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet. Without directly referring to Bhujbal, Pawar said, "It is not right...to create misunderstandings." He added that they have considered giving opportunities to seniors at the center. This comes after Bhujbal complained about being ignored for a ministerial berth in Maharashtra's new government. The NCP, which is a part of state and federal BJP-led governments, has so far given nine ministerial berths -- none to Bhujbal. Bhujbal, who was earlier Maharashtra's Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister, slammed Pawar and another senior NCP leader Praful Patel for not talking to him about his ministerial role. "I am not a toy in their hands," Bhujbal said in Nashik. Bhujbal alleged his NCP colleagues withheld his nomination even though Chief Minister Devendra Fadavis had approved his appointment. Amid the controversy and speculation about his political future, Bhujbal has found support from many quarters. Representatives of several Other Backward Class (OBC) groups met him and extended support for his stand. Notably, other stalwarts like Dilip Walse-Patil from NCP and Sudhir Mungantiwar and Vijaykumar Gavit from Bharatiya Janata Party were also kept out of the cabinet.

UK consumer confidence falls in December ahead of January 'spending squeeze' - BRC
The BRC consumer spending monitor indicated public confidence in the state of the UK economy had dropped from -19 in November to -27 in December, while plans for personal spending fell from +3 to -3. The personal financial situation index held steady at -3 points and personal savings increased from -9 to -5. BRC chief executive Helen Dickinson said: "The public's spending intentions - both in retail and beyond - dropped 6pts, with expectations of spending in nearly every retail category falling. If these expectations are realised, retailers could find themselves facing a New Year spending squeeze just as they unveil their January sales. "The weak spending intentions could pave the way for a challenging year for retailers, who face being buffeted by low consumer demand and £7.0bn of new costs from the Budget set to hit the industry in 2025. To mitigate the impact this will have on growth, Government must ensure that its proposed business rates reform does not result in any shops paying higher rates than they already do."
